YSL Pure Chromatics No. 8, swatches & FOTD

I blogged about YSL Pure Chromatics No 9 HERE. And now we have YSL Pure Chromatics No 8. It is a shimmery collection of champagne, golden beige, copper brown and olive green.

YSL Pure Chromatics No 8

According to Sephora’s website:

What it is:
Water-activated eye shadow palettes in colors that transform into a radiant, intense, metallic finish.

What it does:
These eye shadows can be used dry, like a traditional eye shadow, for a subtle shimmering effect, or wet, for a full-intensity pigment metallic finish. These remarkable properties give everyone the freedom to create any kind of eye look from simple to dramatic in seconds.

What else you need to know:
Yves Saint Laurent labs have invented the “water process” Pure Chromatics eye shadow. This process uses water, in place of a solvent, to develop the formula. Once pigments are mixed with water, dry, pure-pigmented powders are left with a very high level of shimmer.

For the FOTD, I used all four colors. The champagne shade on the inner corners and brow bone. The golden beige on the lid. The copper brown on the crease line blending upwards. And the olive green shade on the outer V.

YSL Pure Chromatics No. 9, swatches and FOTD

YSL Pure Chromatics No 9 via Emilie on Pinterest

Pure Chromatics No 9 is part of a trio that’s new for Summer 2012. I’m new to the brand and what better introduction than through it’s Pure Chromatics line of eye palettes.

What Sephora.com says about them…

Despite it’s size (0.18 oz) and prize ($52), I find this collection worth investing in. The Summer 2012 trio (7,8 & 9) that’s being added to the line is a nice investment and I could easily bring just those 3 for travel as it can easily adjust to any season, any time of the day and any occasion. I’m glad I indulged and have been very happy using them.

Let’s move on to the swatches…

For this look, I did a wet application using water and Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Brush. I used the taupe-y brown shade (lower left) all over the lid all the way to the crease. Then I blended the bronze-y brown shade just above the crease. I used the muted pink shade to highlight and the navy blue shade to line my upper lash line.
