~ purchased by me ~
I have heard good things about Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation especially on the oil-control department. Since it is summer here I thought it’s best to try out the powder version and see how it holds up to SoCal Summer.
This product claims 8-hour wear with an interesting dual-sided sponge applicator. And it did just that although there might be some fading, my fault mostly from touching my face, eating, etc.
I love this type of packaging as I like keeping my applicators separate from the product itself for sanitary purposes.
And the vents at the bottom keeps the applicator compartment vented. We know what happens to things that are not allowed to air-dry and we don’t want that.
The powder itself is a dream. It is
The powder itself is a dream. It smooths on the skin, super velvety soft. I used the sponge side to apply the powder on my bare face without any primer. It evened out my skin tone, did not have that “dry” feeling most powders have, oil-breakthrough at my nose area did not appear until the 3rd hour, the rest of my face remained oil-free the rest of the day. I will be trying it out with a primer, using the Marc Jacobs Face II Brush with and without primer for comparison and will post updates.
For now, here is my before picture after I have put on my skincare products without primer.
With the sponge-side of the applicator using patting motions, sheer/medium coverage.
And here was my hurried “face”. Forgive those brows. Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Cocoa topped with Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Heather Rose, Maybelline Mascara, Cle de Peau Concealer in Honey to hide those pesky dark circles, Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 160 Innocence on the cheeks and Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Gloss in Rose.
Have you tried this powder before? Did you like it? Share your thoughts…
