Le Metier de Beaute x Net-a-Porter Fashion Eye Collection Palette

~purchased by me~

Is it new or is it new?

#LMDBxNetAPorter

I almost fell on my seat when I saw Le Metier de Beaute’s Facebook post yesterday. Nude? LMdB? In a flat non-kaleidoscope palette? Sign me up. But then, as I headed on over to Net-a-Porter’s page and read the shades in this beautiful thing I realized that I have all of these shadows as singles.

I know it does not look exactly like the stock photo but if they are just re-promoted, re-packaged eyeshadows then this is it. I have all of them. Now, I would not call this a nude palette. I would probably call this “Everyday Essentials” or “Ultimate Day to Night”. Besides nude is so overrated. If you want nude may I suggest Becca’s Ombre Nudes Eye Palette which retails at $40 over at Sephora.

PRO

  • a great value considering there are  8 shadows and a brush (singles are $30)
  • prefer flat palettes over the kaleidoscope
  • perfect intro palette to those who want to try LMdB but have never bought anything in the past
  • the quality is top-notch, creamy, finely milled shadows, does not crease, last a long time on the lids and would last longer with the right primer, no fall-out, blends like a dream

CONS

  • for me? I already own the singles…boohoo 😦
  • the price can be an issue

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Love Bite

~purchased by me~

#CharlotteTilburyLoveBite

Everytime I foray into a new brand for lip products, particularly lipsticks, I always get one red. If you know me personally or have seen my FOTDs or selfies, you know I rarely wear red on the lips. I love my nude pink, nude peach, pink-mauves and corals but I have a hard time finding a super good red. It’s not my way to measure how good a brand is but since I rarely wear and only use it for certain occasions, mainly parties. So with that in mind, I look for an opaque, non-drying, moisturizing, non-feathering, non-migrating, long lasting formula. Slight staining properties is a plus (stains with same color as the shade used). All the above without any aids, meaning lipliner, concealer on the edges, anti-feathering liner.

#CharlotteTilburyLoveBite

This is love at first swipe. Opaque at first swipe, non-drying, moisturizing, long-lasting with slight staining capabilities. And then I find smudges of the lipstick on my chin, above my upper lip, etc. Maybe I should let it dry first. Ugh, I still love it so much.

#CharlotteTilburyLoveBite

I would give this a 4/5. I took one point away for the feathering. Despite that, it is still my top red lipstick. Do you have a top red lipstick in your collection? Do share below and thanks for dropping by.
