I have to say I am very impressed with this collection. I am sure a lot has been said already about this collection. I love the old Hollywood glamour and how it can be modern using this collection. Quality is better than ever. I have to break this post in different parts though because there’s just way too many pictures. So without further delay…
Eye Color Duet
I have a bunch of eye shadows from this brand and they are not really #1 on my list. But these two have exceptional quality. They are velvety, buttery soft. They apply and blend like a dream. I haven’t tried them on by itself but with a primer (NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base) at the 13th hour there is no creasing with minimal fading (around 90%).
$22 each.
According to the Laura Mercier website…
New. Limited Edition. The Eye Colour Duet immediately releases intense luminous colour with superior blending in two complementary shades. The creamy powder texture provides distinctive full colour and unique blend ability.
Tightline Cake Eye Liner
These little beauties are a must have for me. I use Laura Mercier’s Activator with it (although you can use water) and that extra step is definitely worth it. Tightlining is a breeze and it doesn’t fade or budge.
$22 each.
According to the Laura Mercier website…
An easy-to-use, cake eye liner that delivers long-lasting colour payoff that doesn’t fade throughout the day for flawlessly defined eyes. Applied with Laura’s artistic technique using the Flat Eye Liner Brush begin underneath the root of the upper lash line and wiggle the brush between individual lashes.
Deep Teal and Ground Espresso are included in the Cinema Noir collection.
Shimmer Bloc
This particular shimmer bloc is very sparkly, glittery. Color is very sheer, more of the glitter. I’m definitely not a big fan but will definitely work if you are looking for high glitter and shine. I think this will work best if dusted ever so lightly around the hairline and/or applied on the décolletage.
$38 each.
According to the Laura Mercier website…
Shimmer Bloc is a unique baked formula that applies effortlessly while brightening the eyes, cheeks & body with a hint of natural colour and light. Light-reflecting properties blend together to give the skin a healthy all-over glow. The modern wearable pearl leaves skin gleaming without being too frosty or metallic. Layer over Bronzing Gel or Tinted Moisturizer for a natural sheen.
Starlet Mosaic is included in the Cinema Noir collection.
Long Lash Mascara
I’m not really a mascara type of person. Once I find a mascara that works I stick by it. Well, that’s about to change. This mascara does its claim to lengthen and separate. It didn’t smudge on me so that was a plus. The color is very subtle from afar and is not that noticeable on black eyelashes. Maybe it would be different on lighter lashes? I would assume that (I might be wrong 🙂 ).
$24 each.
According to Laura Mercier website…
Long Lash Mascara extends and precisely separates the thinnest, shortest, hard-to-reach lashes by expertly scooping up and lengthening each lash while delivering just the right amount of product. The perfectly engineered brush, designed to meet Laura’s specifications, dramatically lengthens and defines lashes while enhancing the eyes. An innovative stretch formula lengthens, separates and curls each lash making lashes appear longer in just two strokes.
Long Lash Mascara in Burgundy is included in the Cinema Noir collection.
I would also like to include a FOTD in this post and I used Mystere Eye Colour Duet with the Deep Teal Tightline Cake Eye Liner and Fresh Brown Lip Colour.

Strangely enough Mystere is the piece that stands out for me, despite the fact that I might not be able to pull the cool combination off so well! Love your FOTDs! The teal is so pretty!
This is my first time doing anything with blue in it. You know the old rule of thumb that blue brings out brown eyes. But I never liked blue as a color in general esp as eye shadow color. But when I saw Mystere in person, it just looked so gorgeous in the pan and I fell in love the moment the brush hit my lids. I actually applied the blue shadow over the deep teal eye liner and blended upwards. The result made me a convert (to blue eye shadows).

That’s a lovely FOTD Emilie! The blue makes your eyes so pretty.
Thank you 🙂 Never thought I’d like blue.
That blue eyeliner is gorgeous!
I’m curious about the mascara. Do you find it to be a true burgundy, or more of a plum color? I’ve been hunting for a burgundy mascara. Many of them actually turn out to be plum. I’m wanting something that leans more red. From the pictures this looks like it would have more red in it. What is your impression? I’d like to know for sure before I shell out over $20 for a mascara, haha.
Sorry for the super late reply. Took the mascara out of the “archives” (LOL) and I did check the mascara out this weekend. It is really leaning towards the red side so I will call this burgundy. I wouldn’t necessarily shell out $20 bucks. It doesn’t really show up on my dark lashes so if you have lighter lash color it might be better. I hope that answers your questions about this product. Thanks for dropping by!
Yes, that answers my question, thanks. I do have really light blonde lashes. They’re actually almost invisible unless I wear mascara, haha. So colored mascaras show up fairly well for me. I have found a cheaper burgundy mascara to try, and if I like it I might give the LM a shot as well. Thanks again!
You’re welcome 🙂
