I know this Eye Kaleidoscope Kit is not exactly new but I haven’t posted a proper blog post on it so here it is. Being that I have a medium to dark skin tone, I naturally gravitated to this color scheme. It suits me really well and for a while I wore this look almost everyday. This kit also is near and dear to my heart since it is the very first kaleidoscope that I ever bought. Eleven kaleidoscopes later, it is still one of my favorites.
According to the Neiman Marcus website…
As seen in Real Simple magazine (October issue, pg. 48).Inspired by the ancient world, Le Metier de Beaute introduces “Silk Road,” the latest color collection capturing the essence of Fall/Winter 2011.A fusion of culture, luxury and texture intertwine creating rich, opulent hues and must have colors for the Fall/Winter season.
The limited edition Kaleidoscope Eye Kit SILK ROAD combines four sumptuous shadows for temerarious sheen (from top to bottom):
- Tapestry—a shimmering, translucent plum.
- Damask— a polished brass.
- Ikat—a silk-matte pinot noir.
- Brocade—a deep chocolate with sequined copper effervescence.
Experience each jewel-toned hue through the previous hue, as all four pigments intertwine to create a prism for the ultimate color contrast with the wearer’s eye shape and color.
Using the Le Metier de Beaute signature eye shadow application technique, “Couches de Couleur” (the layering of color), each hue is selected to evoke one element in a sequence of crescendo: 1. Warm 2. Cool 3. Hot 4. Cold. The combination is famed for increasing the femininity of the eyes, while adding a dash of mystery.
You can definitely create a softer look with just the first three shades layered. For this look though, I layered all four shades. It’s such a wonderful and versatile eye kit. I am so glad I have it in my collection.
